Wedding Guide : With These Shoes, I Thee Wed

Wedding Guide Shoes

Congratulations on your big day. As you make all the plans for your wedding, you're sure to find many of the decisions you'll make will be quite simple, others will be rather difficult. One decision too many brides put off for too long in their planning process are their wedding shoes. It's important to start thinking about your wedding shoes fairly early as you may have a harder time finding your dream shoes than you originally thought.

Things to think about when wedding shoe shopping:

* Location – If you're having a beach wedding, stilettos probably aren't the way to go. Be sure you're shoe choice is appropriate for your venue.

* Heel height – Do you want to teeter above all your guests in the highest heels or do you want to keep it simple with a pair of flats. Be sure not to alter your dress until you know your heel height.

* Comfort – You'll be wearing these shoes for most of the day so be sure you can walk in them and that they're comfortable to walk, stand and dance in.

* Color – Most brides choose white but it's not mandatory. Consider having some fun with color by incorporating the colors you've chosen for your wedding theme into your attire for the day.

* Time of Year – Those open-toed strappy sandals seemed like a great idea in June but leave you out in the cold for your October wedding. Think ahead and plan accordingly.

* Embellishments – Jewels and beads can add some whimsy to otherwise traditional shoe styles.

* Cost – Your wedding shoes are important but remember you're only wearing them for one day. Consider this when making your purchase.
